Located at Allenby and Ahad Ha’am Streets, the Great Synagogue is Israel’s third largest house of worship. The imposing structure opened in 1926 and was renovated in 1970, when the giant concrete arches that characterize it were added to the façade. The temple’s ornate stained-glass windows, replicas of European synagogue panes destroyed during the Holocaust, are not to be missed.
